Description

First major project of 2017! A back-and-right-deltoid tattoo for Nikola, my Serbian giant client! The upper back design is Ragnarok-themed, depicting the battle between Thor and Jormungandr below, and Fenrir with Odin and Tyr in his somach and Vidar stabbing him above, all under the blackening rays of the sun. The banner reads a line from the Poetic Edda, translated as "Axe-time, sword-time, | shields are sundered,
Wind-time, wolf-time, | ere the world falls;"

The shoulder design depicts the battle between Thor and the mighty giant, Hrungnir, with a runestone-style wyrm around them, on which is written "The slayer of Bele’s evil race | Made fall the bear of the loud-roaring mountain; | On his shield | Bite the dust | Must the giant | Before the sharp-edged hammer, | When the giant-crusher | Stood against the mighty Hrungner"
